If You Owned A 60 Second Super Bowl Commercial, What Would You Say?

Yesterday I read an email from a man who was pondering the idea of buying 60 seconds of commercial time during the upcoming Super Bowl. He wondered what would be so important to him that he would pay the required millions of dollars to have 60 seconds to say one thing. Beer? Pizza? A car?

I considered that question myself and came up with the following that would be my one thing if I had 60 seconds of worldwide airplay.

More than anything else, Jesus came to give us a love affair of the heart…a love affair between the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit…and us! Imagine the most incredible love you have ever experienced with any other person in your life, and you won’t even come close to what He desires for us. It’s not a love affair that is to be managed by tips and techniques. It’s not a program of sin management. It is a love affair that is to be freely lived and enjoyed.

He did NOT come to start a new religion, to change an old religion, or to have anything to do with religion. In fact, one of His major foes during His time on this planet was religion and its self-serving rulers.

He did NOT come to hand us a new code of ethics to live by, or a new set of rules by which we could judge ourselves or others.

He did NOT come to start a political party, or even give credence to one…right wing or left.

He did NOT come to earth representing some mean old heavenly grouch who is always upset with us and just wants us to get our act together.

He came offering life, love, peace and joy! His invitation was to come into a relationship with Him where we experience the love of the Father at the deepest levels of our being, and out of that, everything else in life will flow.

This video is more than 60 seconds, but really accentuates what I'm saying. Enjoy!
